PoE Injector

There are many things you must keep in mind when you are preparing to set up a Wireless LAN network. There can be many types of arrangement for the power sources for your wireless LAN network. There can be that arrangement in which we are provided with long cords, so that they are able to reach the electrical outlet. Or there can be another type of installations in which there will be altogether different outlets requiring more electrical wiring in the area. But nowadays there is a much better way to supply the electrical power to the access points and that is through Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). This is the most effective way to provide the electric supply and it is much cheaper than the other methods to supply power.

In a PoE injector, we can get the date and receive the electric supply by using the same cable. It can sense the access points and inject the optimum electricity in your cable. It is placed in between the switch and the access point, and is connected to the power source. This results into the access point working even though it is not directly connected to the energy source. You can benefit a lot from these Power-over-Ethernet injectors. You get lot more flexibility of access point positions, more stability as there is less cables etc. There are many types PoE injectors available and you can select among them the best which suits your needs.

1. Inline Power over Ethernet Injector: - This type of PoE injectors are very rarely used for domestic purposes and wireless networks because of the high costs of installing them. They are most widely used in Commercial ventures. This type of PoE connects only one access point to an electricity source at a time, and it is positioned between the access point and the source signal through the cable. This PoE is connected to the source of electricity through a regular electric cord. These types of PoE are most beneficial for office uses and can save you a lot of money.

2. Integrated Power over Ethernet injector:- In these type of injectors, the PoE is incorporated with the switch. As a result, you don’t have to buy extra equipments and apparatus. Therefore, you can save a lot of money which you would have wasted on buying the apparatus. In the Integrated PoE of this type, every port has the PoE ability incorporated within the switch. Also, the switch is directly connected to the source of electric power. This type of PoE injectors are the best when you want to install a large commercial wireless network.

3. Hub based power over Ethernet injector:- In this type of PoE , there is a a power hub between the access point and the source of the signal. In this type PoE injector , you can have more than one access points.
