PoE Splitter

 PoE Splitter
A PoE Splitter can be used in conjunction with your PoE injector for devices which are not inherently capable of Power over Ethernet.

The injector is placed near your switch and the splitter will then be situated near the device you need powering (a security IP camera, for example). The Cat5 cable comes out of your injector, now carrying both data traffic AND power, and is fed into the splitter.
Out of the splitter comes a short data-only cable (cat5) which plugs into your IP enabled device as usual. However, the splitter also provides you with a short DC power cable which, you guessed it, plugs into the power socket on the device (where you would normally plug the mains).
